About 40 Hunter Mill District canvassers hit the ground running Saturday after a rousing reminder from U.S. Rep. Gerry Connolly about the importance of getting a majority of Democrats elected to the House on Nov. 6.
Connolly told canvassers who gathered at former FCDC Chair Sue Langley’s home that with a majority, House Democrats will aggressively investigate Trump and his administration. He said they have 62 subpoenas ready to go for “a target-rich environment.”
Connolly said that there’s a lot of enthusiasm among Democrats. One example he cited: 3,000 yard signs were picked up in one day instead of the three weeks that the campaign was expecting.
Other elected officials participating in canvassing Saturday were State Sen. Janet Howell, Delegate Ken Plum of District 36, and Fairfax County School Board Member Karen Keys-Gamarra.
